As a tribute to my childhood friend, I have decided to present the Jamie Ryan Fighting Spirit Award to one student who shows discipline, dedication, commitment, and above all else, a positive mental attitude towards life as well as training.
This year will be the second year we will be presenting the award.
Last year, young Flynn Marriot won the award, and it was well deserved.
Young Flynn has not only showed that he is more than worthy of this award, but he has progressed through the ranks at a steady pace to the level of 4th kyu; halfway to the coveted black belt level.
Flynn is popular among his peers in the dojo and we are all excited to watch his growth and development not only in the martial arts, but in life in general.
On behalf of the MOUKOKAIKAN Board and Committee Members I'd like to congratulate Flynn on his outstanding achievements at the MOUKOKAIKAN Brisbane.
